Are you a parent under pressure? - Who isn't?!! This meeting attracted a large turnout of parents. Shiela O'Malley presented on the topic of "Parenting Teens". The talk, which was both enjoyable and thought-provoking, was followed by a lively Q & A and further discussion over tea / coffee.

"Parenting is the hardest job you’ll ever do and comes with no training or support" says Shiela, and her talk emphasised the the importance of developing an authoritative parenting style, promoting listening, respect and choice, within clearly defined boundaries and a background of recognising the feelings that exist under all our behaviours.

Sheila O’Malley is a qualified Parent Mentor who trained with Dr Tony Humphreys, a Clinical Psychologist, Author and speaker. Sheila runs Practical Parenting and offers one to one parent mentoring, courses and workshops and is a regular contributor to radio and TV. In addition, she is a former parenting correspondent for Independent Newspapers.
